SMUG ALERT: David Beckham Talks About His H&M Underwear Ads

David Beckham has a knack for keeping his name in the news and his face on the theSmugAlert.com (Click HERE for other Becks appearances on tSA).

The newest ad campaign for his BodyWear collection for global retailer H&M is being released on the heels of the announcement that he’s joining French soccer club, Paris-Saint Germain.  tSA caught up with Becks to get his take on the recently released and widely discussed Guy Ritchie-directed commercial in support of the campaign:

tSA: David, what would you say was the premise of your new H&M Beckham Wear commercial?

Beckham (squeaky ass voice):Oye may-t! Yeah I guss the premise of the commercial had rel-ee nu-fing ta doo wif the pro-duk et-self, but ra-vha evry-fing ta doo wif me sho-wing the woo-rould how ama-zingly fost I am and to highlite my unmatched en-durr-ence and agil-ety. Posh was blown off ‘er trollee wa-ching me pogo amd jibblies bobbing around in me skimpies, all dodgey like.

tSA: How do you respond to recent criticism surrounding the commercial –  specifically that this commercial  epitomizes the term “sex sells” and is a mere rip-off of Ferris Bueller’s Day Off?

Beckham (squeaky ass voice):Well at rel-ee brasses me off. Frank-lee I never rees-pond to crit-e-sicm because I choose not too lis-en too it.  But bay-sicly, I am adored by all becuz I am this hout. I haf it awwl – the looks, the ath-let-ic suck-sess, and the internats-shunal appeal. So, it’s not vat sex sells, but ra-va I sell.  I tot-all-lee fink I may-ke vis wor-ould a betta place. You follow me brov?

Now, wut is this Ferr-is Butch-ah rubbish?

tSA: Ferris Bueller’s Day Off is a movie with a famous scene where Ferris races through neighborhood backyards and homes to get back in bed before his sister arrives home to expose the fact that he’s faking sick and playing hookie from school.

Beckham (squeaky ass voice): We-ell that is queer as a nine bob note’.  I’m chuffed to bits.  Sounds like a cracking scene if they are basing it on me legging it a-bouht in me skimpies.

tSA: No… it’s an 80’s movie…it couldn’t have been based on you or your commercial.

Beckham (squeaky ass voice):  Th-at is neither he-er nor there. Bob’s yur uncle, brov.  Cheers.
